I've been to this stylist before. Although last time it wasn't quite what I had in mind, it was adaptable. Last week I came in with a photo. We talked a couple of times about what I wanted. He repeated everything I said back to me flawlessly, and then he began.

He took the first cut at my bangs. I looked up and said: "I need them textured too..." As my front hair fell on my lap I knew...I was dead meat. There will be no texturing from this point on. I think he knew too that he had cut too much off my front hair. We both watched my bangs sprung up above my eyebrows.

At this point he tried to cover-up and said things like: "oh, you have curls in your hair" "you have a cowlick". "your hair has been parted this way for so long, you will have to train it again" All I could think about was, how am I going to fix this mess? My bangs look like my house broom. I couldn't wait to swish it, or get it off my forehead. He continued chopping the sides and the back of my hair. I supposed he thought by making the rest of my hair shorter, my bangs would somehow look longer.

I am so doomed. I look like a dork. I have a bowl on my head. If I move them to the side they look ok. But we had a birthday party to go to, so I decided to clip them back. It was the best look for now until it grows again.

Don't be fooled by these photos. I had a lot of make-up on to divert you from the hideous haircut. I had also spent an hour of pulling and tugging at my hair so that it would lay decent for the photos. But if you look at the top photo, you can see one side is shorter than the other, in length and layers, very obvious. And the bangs are cut so deep and so short that if I didn't have my eyes rolled back, it would not be below my eyebrows.
