Predict Your Page Rank -Not Google Pagerank

Write and Share Page Rank Prediction:
I am inspired to write and share. So what emotion trickled my inspiration? Happiness and excitement.

Where is Google Page Rank Part III?
I am overdue to publish Google Page Rank Part III - I wrote about NO Pagerank, NOT Listed, Not Searchable Blog/ Website. Blogger Broadcast.com, spin-off from Self Sagacity.com was unlisted due to suspicions (yes. It was definitely an error) for 1 1/2 years! I spent months digging into the situation. If you would like to read about it, please refer to this link. What is No Page Rank, Not Searchable Blog?
I believe this article will make Part IV: Predict Your Page Rank- Not Google.  I wanted to be inspiring and am hoping to bring a smile to your face.
Why My Page Rank stayed the same for 3 Years?
I’ve been PR 3 since 2009, six weeks after SelfSagacity.com went live. I was very blessed. The thought of writing another Page Rank article didn't entice me much due to my PR being the same for so long. What could I have written about when, me, the author herself hasn't shown any improvements in Self Sagacity’s page rank?

Reasons for Page Rank being the same for 3 years:
I don't know the real reason why. Besides the back links, content, and other requirements we've discussed over and over again. Each blog is different - but here are some of my guesses.
1) PR leakage, linking to other websites with less pagerank or no ranks.
2) This is a non niche blog. The closest niche Self Sagacity comes to is Life and Experiences. It is a sharing but not a review site. Life in general started to take on a niche suddenly, but that means the last few years didn't really count.
3) GPR skipped my blog. I have all the possible rank assessments dates on my calendar, but every time, it came and went, and I am left with the same PR. It is puzzling that I have 100 times  more content than I did in 2009 and thousands of comments, back links more, yet, my PR stayed the same.
4) Grateful that my rank didn't slip! What I was glad for though was the fact that my PR wasn't downgraded either.

Predict Your Blog’s or Website’s Future Page Rank or Real Page Rank:
Now that I had explained the mood of the inspiration here comes the juicy part. How would you like to find out what another SEO site rate your blog or website? It’s an inspiration! I am not paid to write this post, nor am I this website’s friend – well, maybe he will thank me after this, but I can tell you it is an inspiration!

3 Steps to predict your Real Page Rank:
1) Just go to this link, http://www.seomastering.com/pagerank-prediction.php
2) and put in your website URL: [www.selfsagacity.com]

3) You will see your current Google Page Rank and you will get a page rank prediction. A rank that is estimated using SEO techniques -the real Page Rank from a quick SEO’s analysis. Please do considered that is not Google Page Rank, so don’t go bugging Google  about it. It is merely another technique used to assess your website's page rank.

So How did you do? For me, it was a happy moment when I put in my Blogs’s URLs. For some of you it might be disappointment.  If this information has brought a smile on your face, and a sparkles in your eyes, that’s worth it alone.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Here is a complete list of Google Page Rank articles I have written:
Google Page Rank Part I - Google Page Rank 1, 2, 3 What Does it Mean?
Google Page Rank Part II - Requirements for Higher Page Rank

  1. It's worth to keep in mind that it's terribly more difficult to move from a PR3 to a PR4. So moving from 0 to 1 is dead easy. Moving from 1 to 2 takes just a couple of months if you have content. While moving from 2 to 3 can take ages.

Consider that moving from 3 to 4 takes 10 times longer than you've moved up in the past. (This can convert into having a thousand more back links) Sometimes new blogs also have false ratings (they can be rated higher than they are). After time, the PR settles in and you have your real PR - judged against sites which are considered your competitors.

If you want to move up a level, you have to see where other blogs similar to yours are getting their back links from, and get yours from there too. In order to rate higher than your competitors, you have to have more links than they do. A PR4 blog has thousands of back-links. A PR3 blog has probably hundreds. That's the real difference. A PR 5 has to have hundreds of thousands...

    1. Hi Anne, your comment is absolutely true about the difference in PR back link requirements. One puzzling history of SelfSagacity's PR is that it never went through the 1, or 2 page ranks. BloggerBroadcast went to a PR2, and never a PR1.

  2. when i was new in blogging the PR matters a lot to me. then it became a mystery on how blogs are being ranked. eventually, it became an annoyance. so now i don't care what my PR is. lol I just blog when i feel like it. thanks for sharing anyway, i learned a lot from this post. something to consider by the way.

    1. I think it still matters to me occasionally. I still care, it's just not an obsession, it is in the back of my mind. It's nice to know. I write the Google Page Rank articles because I am truly interested, and because my readers actually made requests. I guess as long as I am entertaining them, I will keep writing and sharing.

  3. thanks for shairng this post again Amanda, I am learning a lot, like you, TJOSL just jumped to PR3 right away, my BIBO to PR2 then PR3. My TJOSL went PR4 before but was dropped to PR3 last year and never went back :(

    1. I just don't understand that Google PR, but whatever. As long as we have each other, right? I am glad your BIBO went to three, the least that can happen after TJOSL went down one PR, but it's silly...since after years, it has a lot more content and definitely a lot more track

  4. My blog, RawThoughtsandfeelings had a PR 3 right off the start too, and then went down to a 2! It's now sitting at PR 2 for about a year now...but I notice that many bloggers had removed my blog from their blog list...so it could be the reason why! Whatever, I just won't worry about it!

    1. Yes. Blog for the love of blogging and for whatever makes you happy. It all depends on what you want and if not looking at it makes you happy, then let it be that way.

  5. I did this fun test before, and it gave me such a joy to see, only when it was time for Wandering Thought to get a PR, it remained the same. It used to have a PR4, but I lost one level last year, and now stuck there.

I stop worry about it or paying too much attention to SEO, or Alexa ranking...I post what I want, and that's all matter to me. Above all, I am now receiving private advertisers who have compensated me way higher than I can imagine. Needless to say, I am happy :-) with Wandering Thought.

    1. I know, WT was a four. I too wished I could be a real 5 from Google, but that is way too much dreaming. I think we all want to know whether we are doing a good job or not, and it is a way for us to see the results. It means nothing if you don't care.

  6. Quite interesting. I've been a 3 for awhile now. I just changed to a .com a year ago and went back to 0 and then back up to 3.

That link above said prediction is 5.39
That's a smile. It would be nice if it happened!

    1. I think you have to ask Google, but it could happen if the links that went to your site have all retracted.

    1. It doesn't mean anything unless you are using your site to monetize. In which case, it would please the advertiser to place advertisements on your site, if they find that page rank 2 and above is what they are looking for.

  10. I've read your entire series 1-4 and it is quite good! Much more informative than other sites. I checked my PR ranking and got a 2.27 for http://www.universalcats.com. How accurate is this though?

    1. Hi Cindy, thanks for reading my posts. According to Google, it is PR 0 for now, perhaps there might be some issue with the listing of it. You should check. Predicting your real page rank is just another system that rate your site. I wouldn't say that Google's system is accurate, but it is what most advertisers go by. It really depends on what your goals are and what is important to you.

  11. I have worked in SEO for a while including at a place often considered the best in the business so I am very confident in my assertions.

If you look at the PageRank formula the way it works is relatively simple. PageRank is calculated by ranking the page with the most authority at a 10 and then it trickles down through links from there (this is a bit simplistic but it makes for a good visual). The scale is also logarithmic. So as a previous commentor pointed out, the jump from 2 to 3 is far greater than 1 to 2 and so on. This essentially means that it takes 10 times as much work to rise each level. So if you're on a PageRank of 5 then that is 10 times as good as a 4.

I think you should do a post on the PageRank formula itself and how sites pass link 'juice'. You can also look at the "nofollow" attribute. It's also important to note that PageRank operates on a page level. So all pages on your site will have their own PageRank. This would then lead to a discussion about the Information Architecture (IA) of your site, how to do internal linking (closely related to IA) and why you should reduce the number of links on your homepage as much as possible.

Also, PageRank in toolbar is unreliable and most professional SEOs that I know don't trust it, far better to use a PageRank checking tool.

These articles are well needed in terms of introduction but you can really deliver some tremendous value by continuing the series as there's a lot of gold to be mined that is super useful for webmasters and bloggers. Particularly the relationship between PageRank and anchor text, rankings and developing an organic backlink profile (and using tools like Majestic SEO and Open Site Explorer as well as advanced search operators to investigate your competitors backlink profile in order to find good linking partners).

    1. Thanks so much for your comment. I do know the requirement about the rise from one rank to the other. I felt that after three years that I have accumulated enough work to move up, but it seemed to not be the case. It's okay with me though. Your suggestions are super fantastic and I appreciate your candidacy. It is not often that I hear such honest feedback.
You're right, it seemed that people still can't get enough of the pagerank info.
      Very warm regards, amanda

It will be of a great help for new bees like me if you post how to get page rank 1 from page rank 0 (its the most toughest process i guess). Hope you surely will throw some light on this.
