To the left is the chicken coop. Not many of us knew, but the chickens do not like to be petted. They will let you know in a loud way not to touch them. Our niece Jordan, is an exception. In the pictures below, Jordan demonstrated the art of luring the chickens to her. She is the only one out of all of us who succeeded.

The benefit of raising your own chicken? The freshest eggs, which can be seen obviously once cooked than the eggs you would get from the supermarkets. We learned that the eggs we consumed normally have already been around for at least a month before they even hit the grocery stores. For people who are fanatic about organic stuff, the chicken coop seemed to be an easy enough project to maintain. I even saw some modern ones on Wikipedia, they just require some straws and loose material, with an in and out entry and you're there. What-ever, I think raising chicken is a lot of work, for now I will just settle for the eggs I get in the stores.

I haven't been this close to any chicken since I was about Jordon age now, so seeing them brought back some memories of when my dad used to take us to his farm on the weekends. It was the most tiring trips, but a lot of fun. I remember it was fun, because I didn't have to do anything, but just hung out and asked for this and that. I remember it was tiring because I would fall asleep on the way home, which would be late in the afternoon. I only remember bits and pieces, but what kid wouldn't have fun just hanging out on the farm where there are so many animals and natural food?

Thanks for stopping by today.
