The Fruitful Thoughts

Our visit last week to Michigan seemed so long ago already. The scenery to the left was our first destination in Michigan, where I was able to spent less than 72 hours. It was beautiful and peaceful. It gave me a sense of being at a resort in which I owned the entire paradise. No matter which direction I gazed ahead, it was all green and endless.

Waking up on the first day, I saw these Daylilies outside the bedroom window. Once I was outside, I saw that the entire deck was lined with Daylilies. What struck me today, was all the Daylilies were either yellow or burgundy. If you recalled my post Burgundy and Yellow Daylilies, which was dedicated to my SO's father while he was in the hospital. It wasn't because I knew that he liked the types of flowers, or that he had these flowers planted around his deck. It was just a coincidence. I keep an open mind about the meaning behind coincidences.

We took a walk around the house, it is more like a field. The pear tree which was more toward the front by the street bear a lot of fruit. I don't think this tree is receiving any special attention, and yet it does well for itself. We had fun just looking at all the fruits and hanging out beneath the shade. I am thankful for the time and the opportunity because we don't get to surround ourselves with such scenery often enough living in the Bay Area.

Thanks for stopping by today.

  1. It looks beautiful where you were and the pears were a bonus. I am sure people have fruit trees in their yards, I just haven't lived anyplace that has them. I was just at Lunardi's today and it was great to see the Gravenstein apples in. When my girlfriend from Sebastapol used to work with me at CASARC, she would always bring bags of them down when Gravensteins were in season.

Are you already back home yet?

  4. @RNSANE Carmen, I came home last weekend. I am about a week late, you will see all my trip pictures in the next few days. Lunardi's is a great store, we have one by my mom's house. I love their fresh produce and meat counter.

  6. I love seeing endless green in nature...and if there is water trickling...even better. I'm always wishing for a stream to take my shoes off, sit and put my feet in.

These are beautiful scenery. I love anything with nature just doing it's thing naturally. I'm glad you got to enjoy this with your family.

  10. Hope you enjoyed your trip! The pears look very good. I'm not seeing many in the stores yet but should be soon. You see, I'm not so fortunate as to have a pear tree in my backyard...I do have cherries, blueberries and raspberries though. :-)

  14. It's funny, Jeannie just told me tonight that her pear tree is loaded down so heavily that they need to pick the fruit before it falls or the branches break. Loved your pics.
