This is last week's, January 21, show and tell of where I live. We had hail in Silicon Valley before, but for a minute at most. Last week was a rare occasion. I've seen hailing, but nothing like this. The snowballs were small but thick, it poured down, and the sky acted like this was its normal behavior in this part of town. It was loud, and lasted at least ten minutes. That day, it hailed twice. The pictures below are from my back yard. Lovely little tiny snowballs landed noisily on the trees and on the rose bushes. It was tantalizing, but gave me a scare because I am not used to seeing such aggressive weather. It was said that we had 1/4 inch of hail and still needed more rain. And we got our wish, more rain this week.

If you click on the picture you will get a close-up of the snowballs. It's amazing how these little lovely things are made so perfectly round and even in sizes and so many of them. How did "he" do that? Even man made pearls are not perfect and I couldn't come close to guessing how many of these lovely little snowballs had poured on us that day, can anyone? If you know please let me know.
