Chidren's Discovery Museum

Trinity Dressed up as Boat People in Straw BoatChildren learn when they are playing, and that is why the Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose is one of the favorite places for children and their parents. It is a place to discover cultures, history and fun by exploring all the unique treasures.
For example, pictured here are photos taken of an area dedicated to the Vietnamese culture. Trinity is playing dress-up with some clothing normally worn by the people of Hue, which is the Central Coast of South Viet Nam.
The bamboo basket boats are very popular in this area and widely use by the people of Hue. The bamboo basket boats are made by woven bamboos and some might not even have any wood. It is popular because it is quite cheap to construct, and even though it might look small some could be as big as eighteen feet in length, so the boats can carry a lot. Although the boats might be hard to see on a misty day. Those are times when they wished they had a bushnell binoculars. Can you see why its design and reliability is so popular among the Vietnamese people?

It might look like Trinity is the only one having fun and going places on Self Sagacity, but SO and I do try to get out once in a while when we can find something that we both are interested in. We always forget how fun it is to just have some uninterrupted time as a couple. Even just watching a video now and then can be hard to come by.

I don't have an action camera, and Trinity is a moving target so a couple of the photos came out a bit blurry, but you get the idea.

Thanks for stopping by today.

  1. I like nature pictures, no posing, even if it's a bit blurry! Glad she enjoys it, and you two had a chance to get out.

  2. My husband and I just drove by there last month when we traveled to Monterey. I think my daughter spent some time there when she and her cousin were little, when we shipped her off for a visit. Oh, it was so long ago when I could take my children to the local childrens' museum. Ok, not that long ago, but it feels that way. You are so right, this is a great way for kids to learn. I was just thinking about you today so I'm happy to read your latest post.

  3. I so agree, children learn a lot when they are exploring outside and playing :) we bought our cirque du soleil and lion king tickets from cheaptickets too :)

  4. Ps...I forgot to add, Trinity looks really pretty and cute, as always. I love her smile and eyes.

  5. I always wanted to visit Hue and to make the 300 miles trip to Halong Bay which has to be one of the most scenic and beautiful parts of VietNam. How wonderful that the children's museum gives little ones the opportunity to learn the cultures of other lands. Trinity looks so wonderful playing there!

  6. It's always great to get out as a couple (or a family). Just the change of scenery makes having fun contagious.

  7. I agree, children definitely learn while they are playing. Looks like Trinity had a great time!
    Happy REDnesday,

  8. love watching kids learn and have fun. such fun :0)

  9. She is gorgeous in that outfit! Kids learned while playing indeed.

  10. Life seems to go by in a blur sometimes so it is expected that capturing people during activities will cause a few blurry photos. They are naturals and that much more special. Enjoy those moments and also with your SO.

    Take care and God bless!

  11. Mom would love to see her pictures, but right now is not a good time!

    She is beautiful!

  12. This is great that she gets to experience the cultures like this. I must take the kids to the museum for children soon before school begins again
