4 Ingredients Pie Crust Recipe

This is my first time ever making a pie crust from scratch - and a pie. I wasn't confident in my baking skills to carry this out, but the four ingredients intrigued me. It seemed too easy you know? Are we missing something here?

I couldn't believe how salt, butter, flour and water could taste so good. I shared the leftover dough with SO, and he thought it really tasted good too.
The key is easy and simple, like the Easy Soft Pretzel Aunty Aunt's Copy Cat Recipe that my kids and I made together.
This pie crust is meant for a pumpkin pie, but if you're making a cherry pie or something sweet substitute the salt with one tablespoon of sugar.

4 Ingredients Pie Crust Recipe

Ingredients:
1/3 cup of very cold water (use as needed)
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 1/4 of flour
1 stick of butter / shortening

Preparation:
Mix the flour and the salt together. Use what's easy for you, a fork or a food processor/ ninja bullet to mix the ingredients.
Cut the butter into chunks and mash the chunks in with the flour, or you can again put the butter into the flour and pulse a few times in a food processor.

Add in water slowly and pinch the flour until you can see little clumps of flour. When the flour is evenly clumped and you can then lumped the flour together into one big ball, the flour is in perfect consistency.

At this point, you will need to spread some dry flour on a flat surface so that you can start rolling out the flour. After you have the flour ball rolled into a flat sheet, it's time to move it to a baking dish.

Tip: to transfer the sheet of flour, fold the flour into one-half gently. Then put the half now into the dish. Once in the dish, you can unfold the flour and push the flour down around the bottom of the pie dish. To make the fancy rim, use your index fingers and thumb.
Tip: You just have to remember two actions: pinch and push.
Use one hand to pinch with your thumb and index finger, and one hand use an index finger to push.  These photos showed the uncooked pie crust, but you can see that the texture is very smooth and it will come out looking good with proper baking time.
