Does a Clean Car Determine How Clean You Are?

My car isn't always clean. This is because my vehicle is used for hauling kids around. I try to empty all the junk out everyday. If it doesn't happen once a day, it would definitely happen once a week. I don't just throw anything in my car and forget about it, or use my car as storage. A messy sink, kitchen, car...gives me anxiety.

Yup! It totally gives me itches, and makes me antsy. It is like a phobia. It breaks me down.

Without children, my car would be spotless. My late Benz was clean most of the time, and I treat it kindly. I am not anywhere near the border of being anal about being clean and organized, but, but, but my car is clean and emptied out. I do not have things in my car that belongs in the kitchen or bedroom.

Does a Clean Car Determine How Clean You Are?
I think so. There is a difference in a person who is clean, that just has too much to do. And a person that is just plain sloppy. The difference is that the person who is "sloppy / messy" do not clean-up after three days, or a week, or even a month. That person will drive it messy all the time and don't even feel itchy, anxiety, or nervous. There is no such thing as a day to clean, and they will not even think about making time to straighten up. It does not bother them. On the other hand, the person who isn't normally messy will make time even if it meant skipping a meal to clean. A little drastic? Not really, if not eating for a clean car makes you feel good, it's worth it. Furthermore, there are three meals in a day, you can eat anytime. For those who are dating, take note of your partner's cars, if you catch his/her trunk - and I mean car trunk here- full of junk, it would probably mean that he/she is a messy person in general.

  1. I believe a messy car is a clear indicator of a person's priorities. Messy (dirty) would means that person isn't as clean as I would like and then there is messy (disorganized) which doesn't mean that person isn't clean. Does that make sense?

Yes. Absolutely, a messy car does bother me even when the children were small. I don't like seeing the dust that accumulates on the dash, but what I can do about that? Not much, really, and I don't have time to keep it wiped off.

Today's prompts reminds me that I need to clean our car out. Now to find the time to do it. Oh darn!

    Thanks for hosting T2Q!

    1. Definitely two different categories. A messy car is just so irritating, but so is a messy desk, and a messy house. LOL

    2. I had a boyfriend that is the messiest pig in the world...not so far from exaggeration. He simply is oblivious to everything, and anything. Sometimes I wondered if he sees me in a blur too.

  4. As an elementary principal I never left my office without my desk being ready for the next day. For me that meant nothing left out or undone. However, even though my desk was clean at 8:00 AM by 9:00 it was a complete mess. (At least in my estimation.) As you wrote I don't like cluttery desks, counters, cars, homes, stores... So yes, I guess, this issue does speak to me of priorities. It does not speak to me of cleanliness.

    BTW Loved the article!

    1. Thank you Marie for sharing. I think a lot of us are busy and it takes a lot of time to clean and organize, therefore the mess doesn't always get attention. Your desk sounds like my dinning table- except, my daughter is the one that likes to decorate the table with her toys.

  5. No, Amanda ~~ I don't think it goes to cleanliness. But I do believe it goes to how messy the owner is. Do you remember Mr. Monk, the TV dectective? He would never have a messy car (if he only had a car, he didn't).

  6. I don't like being in a dirty car. I don't drive but when I am going out with my family I am always quick to say "Is the car washed and ready?!" I think the state of one's car does tell how clean you are. Take care and have a great weekend.

    1. Now that is a clean car person for sure. I don't always have time to run to the car wash, but I like the inside organized and not so cluttered with things that don't belong. Oh and of course, it need to be free of trash.

  7. I am not a super clean person. I like my car to be pretty clean. I don't like getting in someone's vehicle where I have to move things around to sit me feet on the floor.

I am visiting from Friendship Friday. I love the questions. I will have to stop by next week and post to the hop.

    1. Hi Betty, thanks for stopping by today. I would love to see you again. Yes, isn't it irritating when you have to clean the car for them in order to find your seat?

  8. My car isn't always clean, but it's not a pigsty either and when I go into someone's car and it looks like a dump, I feel um scornful of it and just want out.

Most on my car mess are crayons, a dropped book and little things kids forget etc.

But no I do not think a messy or clean car defines a person.

  9. I realized how much children contribute to a car's mess when mine were grown and gone. My car is now clean, but a family member's messy car and spotless house made me realize that people sometimes just pick places to nest where they don't have to worry about the mess.
