Magnesium Glycinate Lowers Blood Pressure: Mineral Benefits for Hypertension

Benefits of Magnesium Glycinate Mineral for Hypertension

When it comes to vitamins, most of us are familiar with the typical ABCD, but what about minerals? Which one is good for us, and what does it do?
Today, we will learn more about magnesium, and more specifically Magnesium Glycinate Mineral for Blood Pressure, or hypertension. Magnesium glycinate can be broken down to easy to understand terms, magnesium, an essential mineral for your body, and glycine, a non-essential amino acid. One of the advantages of magnesium glycinate is how easy it can be absorbed by the body. By bounding itself to the amino acids magnesium glycinate gets carried to your cells. This form of magnesium is also desirable because it is less likely to cause a laxative effect.

High Blood Pressure or Hypertension
Hypertension is defined as having a blood pressure reading of higher than 140/ 90. It is unfortunate that this health issue builds up slowly over time, and the signs are vague in the beginning, not nagging enough for people to take seriously. A couple of ways to think about the causes of hypertension are: 1) how rust is formed and 2) how a drain gets clogged. You could also imagine that your favorite bottle of lotion can no longer squirt out the contents because the sprout is clogged with build-up. Having to squeeze out the content takes a lot of energy and effort. Relatively, high blood pressure is the degree of effort the heart has to work to pump blood through your body.

Magnesium’s Role in Our Bodies
Magnesium plays a big role in regulating our good health. Women should have 320mg and men 420mg of magnesium per day. Insufficient amounts of magnesium in our bodies could lead to numerous problems, such as the ones below.

• High blood pressure
• Irregular heart beat/heart palpitations
• Muscle pain or cramping
• Restless legs
• Twitching eyelids
• Sleep disturbances
• Depression
• ADHD
• Headaches/or migraines
• Premenstrual syndrome
• Osteoporosis

Magnesium Normalizes Irregular Heart Beat
Magnesium is a mineral with relaxing effect. It is a valuable subject in treating irregular heartbeat—even in life-threatening situations. One study examined magnesium treatment immediately after a heart attack found it slashed the death rate by 75 percent and resulted in fewer complications.

Women and Men Benefit from Magnesium Glycinate
Women with high blood pressure need magnesium because blood pressure medication doesn't work as well on women as it does in men. Yet taking magnesium glycinate generally helps lower blood pressure. Many men experience erectile dysfunction as a side effect of their blood pressure medication. With this in mind, both sexes will appreciate magnesium’s ability to keep naturally normalize blood pressure normal naturally.

Other Benefits from Magnesium Glycinate
Muscles Need Magnesium. Taking magnesium glycinate may help alleviate some symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia. Symptoms such as muscle cramping, pain, twitching, tics, restless leg syndrome, and night muscle spasms could benefit from taking doses of 500 – 800mg of magnesium glycinate along with 1500mg malic acid per day.
Magnesium Glycinate Helps in Chelating the Body. The glycine component of magnesium glycinate also helps to remove mercury from your body. This is called chelation. Mercury can lead to emotional instability.
Magnesium may also help to support insulin sensitivity, the hormone that helps to control blood sugar. A meta-analysis published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that, for every 100 mg increase in magnesium intake, the risk of stroke dropped by 9%.
