Painted Oak Built in Hutch & Desk How to

A another improvement to my kitchen. Just taking baby steps towards uplifting the looks of our old oak cabinets. I followed the painting steps as posted in Painted Oak Kitchen Cabinets White. It is true what they say, the more you do it, the easier it gets. And it does get easier in terms of confidence, but unfortunately the time it took was still the same.
The important tip about painting is you have to be patient to let the paint cure. Sanding the paint when it is not quite dry, will take the paint off. There is a reasonable wait of at least a week, or 10 days. It is to make sure the paint is cure and ready for sanding and waxing. I might love how the new paint makes the area looks now much more than most of my friends. What do you think?

  1. It looks so much brighter and prettier now. I think the work it took was worth the look it now has. Well done! I've done a lot of painting work in our home. As you said, it takes patience.

  2. While I love the look of natural wood, I think it looks much better after the redecorating. I'd have a hard time waiting for the paint to cure, though. :O)

    1. The pain in the >>> was the little cubes in this project. I had to be so patient to get all of the corners and the top - I wouldn't want to do that again. ;-)

    1. You know what? When it was wood, you can't see the details as much. I think the cubes shows more after the coat of paint.
