Stephen Dattels is Honored by AIM Award granted WAFM

The 2012 Alternative Investment Market (AIM) Awards ceremony was held on October 11 at the Old Billingsgate in the City of London. When BBC presenter Susana Reid announced the winner of the Best Performing Share Award, the Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the West African Minerals Corporation accepted the award on behalf of the company.

Since 1995, the AIM platform of the London Stock Exchange has recognized both firms and individuals who take advantage of the financial opportunities extended to companies with smaller market capitalization. The AIM Best Performing Share Award is presented to the company that performed the best in terms of share appreciation. In order to be nominated to this award, 25 percent of the shares issued by an AIM-listed company must be held by public investors.

CEO Stephen Dattels expressed his delight when Brad Mills and Anton Mauve collected the award. In a press release, the CEO stated that the award reflects more than just the market performance of the shares. The company has enjoyed a successful year with regard to the exploration of the Binga site in Cameroon. Results from the drilling and exploration efforts at Dinga are due to be make public in the next few weeks.

The Best Performing Share Award is one of the most coveted by AIM-listed companies each year since it factually reflects the value delivered to shareholders.
