Recognizing Self Deceit

Guest post by Poison Ivy

I have been doing some soul searching, not really. When does one have the time to sit and analyze one's life? Not me, I usually try not to drill into the things I don't like about my life. Such is a coward, but it works for a happy day okay?
The subject fell upon me like a heavy lump of rock and now that I have to walk around with this extra weight, I had to do something. I decided to stepped outside of the circle, and pretend to see everyone else without me. I decided to be very peaceful and less outward like my usual self.

Now that I'd stepped outside of my circle, the day I am forced to wake-up and face the truth. The things I settled for because of my situation, and the clues I brushed aside in order to kept peace, they surfaced once in a while only to remind me to be true to myself.

Yet, the easy way out is that I hope to sleep-in for a while longer. I am not ready to admit that I knew this was coming.

It’s sad to say one can only live with self deception for so long.It is not so much that we pretended on purpose, but it because

  • We wanted to believe everything is good.
  • We wanted to believe in the power of change.
  • We wanted to believe that our love can conquer all.
The mix matched feelings that we avoided. The intuitions that we never took seriously, all fell upon us in that one moment - the moment when we awakened to see things as they really are. The moment when we stopped telling ourselves that it’s okay. Now they all add-up. Recognizing self deceit is part of being confident in who you are.

  1. Self realization can be a great experience, and a good thing. Whatever it is that you want to uncover, it will be much lighter on your shoulders and most definitely your soul.

    Happy Easter..

  2. Sometimes it's difficult to go there, through that self realization. Once we have and accept ourselves for who we are, it makes all the difference in the world.

  5. First of all you have a very beautiful macro shots! Secondly, your self realization or shall I say life reflection is remarkable. Sometimes it is hard to take few steps to see what is out there. But it will be also awesome to be out in the circle and see it from the outside. Does it worth staying or it is worth taking a risk to step out and spread the wings. ^_^ Love your post and thanks for sharing and the visit too. Happy Easter Monday!

  10. Really neat pictures! Sometimes we have to do a reality check and make changes that are within our grasp of doing so. I think we find ourselves safe in our comfort zone and not wanting to make the necessary adjustments sometimes. My prayers are with you on what ever you're face. God knows everything. Hugs!

  13. It takes awhile to mature into that area where you can fully be you without the mask. But the journey there can be rather enlightening.

It's also interesting other people's reaction to this change in you.
