Thursday Two Questions #77 Help Clean-up the World with Adoption

Another edition of Trinity and her many talents! She is really into her baby doll here...taking the doll everywhere she went.

A couple of months ago while I was browsing the internet for vanity sets for women, she asked me about a baby brother. I said that would never happen. Then just a couple of days ago, she decided to work on her dad with the same question. Neither one of us have the energy or the desire to have another child.

Although, I wouldn't mind adopting in a few years. SO said no-way, because we are maxed out in terms of time and money. If I knew then what I know now, I would help clean-up the world with adoption.
Here are Self Sagacity's Thursday Two Questions #77
1) How do you feel about adoption?
2) Would you adopt more than one child if you had the opportunity?

    1. I wonder sometimes what happens to the kids that never gets adopted? Do they just grow to 18 and then leave on their own? How sad...

  3. Your Trinity is a real cutey! :) I am really glad for all three of you that she has a happy home. All kids in the world need a happy home. You have good questions today.

    1) Adoption is the sensible way to give children who are unwanted or being unable to be cared for a happy home.
    2) At my age I wouldn't have the energy. Our last of five kids was born when I was forty. That girl helped keep me young! I loved it though and being older somehow I appreciated her more and spent more time with her than I did the others. She was about 12 years younger than the average for the rest.

    1. Thank you, Trinity is our treasure. She has so much energy and so curious, yet, she can settle down and color and write, the part that I really like.

Children are so much work, I think the adults now make a lot more work than it used to be too. There are so much demand on how we should raise them and what we should be giving them. I am still trying to find a balance.

  4. I feel that adoption is good for the child in question as it will certainly make their life easier to be with adopted parents who love and can provide for them.

I don't think I will be able to adopt a child at the moment as my hands are tied with my 3 kids. Maybe if we do have enough funds and when the kids grow up we may consider.

    1. Yes, in terms of changing a life of a child, it is tremendous. I mean just take Brad Pitt or Madonna for example, one day their kids were among hundereds of kids without parents, the next day, they are children of movie stars and famous people. Things that no matter how much I slave for in this life I will never be able to see or know about, yet, these kids, have the life and were destined to be rich and famous, even though their original stars were not so bright.

    1. Yes, there are, even though I had a different thougth when I was younger, now, I have changed my mind and would rather adopt than have my own. :-)

  6. I would definitely adopt children if I could afford it. We may still do (when our kids get older or when they move out). If the kids are troubled, I'd hate to bring them into the family when ours are still impressionable. I can deal with issues, I just don't want to inflict them on our kids when they're young.
An option may be to go back to South America and adopt a child from there. Would you adopt a child from Vietnam? Perhaps a distant relative?

    1. Yes, I would Anne, and that would of been the better choice for me to adopt from Viet Nam if I was brought up differently. I agree that while having your own kids, it's hard to mix, but many people do and it worked out for them.

  7. She is just adorable.

I hear my daughter asking about another baby. I don't mind though. I do want more children. Just seems like things aren't working out well for it to happen.

    1. I told myself as a child that I would grow up, find a great job and adopt children. I still feel that strong desire to adopt now just as then, except life is happening and I'm getting impatient and angry about circumstances that are not playing out right to let that happen.
I should just leave it to God though.

    2. Yes I would adopt more than one child if I can.

    Have a great weekend!

    Off to visit the others.

  9. Adoption is a beautiful thing. I think, if we had never had our own children then this would be a perfect solution for us. Of course at 50, I wouldn't entertain doing this now. For anyone who chooses to adopt either childless or couples with children, then in my opinion they are truly special people. I'm glad there are couples who want to do this and how gratiful these little children must be. My parents adopted my cousin when he was six and then later on they adopted my brother's two oldest daughters. They have such big hearts!
