Overview of Humalog for Diabetes

Coming from a family history of diabetes I am always interested in learning new ways to control the high blood glucose levels. A medication I recently came across is Humalog. Humalog is a form of insulin that is used in combination of regular insulin, or by itself to help control the blood sugar spikes after meals.

Although it isn’t common for type 2 diabetics to take insulin, some people do need to due to the pancreas being damaged overtime. Patients with damage pancreas have opted for combining Humalog because it reduces the amount of injections. Humalog is fast acting and is used in the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The medication has a shorter action time duration compared to regular human insulin.

If you have been diagnosed as a candidate for this medication, you probably are wondering where to buy Humalog. You can buy the medication at most major pharmacy, and/ or order Humalog online through pharmacy websites. Generic Humalog isn't available at this time, however if you need to look for ways to buy cheap Humalog, you can order online to save on taxes or buy in bulk if they offer this option. It is illegal for anyone to sell medicine without a prescription, so never buy from a website that does not ask for your prescription.

Another important point about the medication worth mentioning is the side effects. Not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. However, when Humalog side effects do occur, they are often minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your health care provider.

Last but not least, why would someone use Humalog as opposed to the Regular insulin? Administering Humalog is easier than of Regular insulin. It can be done with the use of a dose pen and can be adjusted depending on a patient’s reaction to the insulin. Other ways Humalog can be administered is by an insulin pump.

  1. Medicine has come a long way from the days when a shot was the only way to administer insulin. This is great information for those who have diabetes.
