America's Next Top Model Is Finally In-Tune With Fashion

Guest post written by my buddy Franklin Davenport

I have been a huge fan of America's Next Top Model since the very first season. I love watching the set-ups for photo shoots, with extravagant hair, make-up, clothing and accessories, then seeing how the final result compares to what I have imagined in my mind. In fact, you might even say it's my guilty pleasure. Over the years, ANTM has chosen girls that represent an incredibly wide and diverse spectrum of beauty, ranging from dark to light to short to plus-size.

At times, it has been my personal opinion that Tyra Banks and her panel of judges choose a winner who is not necessarily the best “model” just for the sake of making a point about beauty, but all of that has chan! ged with the last three season. Between Nicole Fox, winner of the “Petites” season, Krista, the striking black beauty from season 14, and season 15's tall, lanky winner Anne Ward, I expect to see some of the girls from ANTM gracing the catwalks of Fashion Week and glossy pages of magazines soon.

I catch America's Next Top Model on tvbydirect, which also allows me to watch the Next Top Models from around the globe, such as Britain's and Australia's Next Top Model. Both shows lack Tyra and therefore a certain amount of sass and “smize,” but they do offer some interesting prizes for photo shoot challenges, such as print campaigns.

  1. I'm so behind in all of these TV shows. My favorite show that I watch often is Masterpiece Theater!

  2. I have to agree that beauty takes on many shapes and faces.
