Outdoors Before Indoors

We love the outdoors and try to be outside every chance we get. These pictures are from the beautiful Santa Cruz, Beach Board Walk in California. It is the only beach close by our house. Besides going to the parks, which is a place on Miss T's wish list every day, we do a lot of errands on the weekends.

Even with all the running around, I still have a little pouch in the front that could fit a baby kangaroo. I was tempted to try something more drastic, other than exercising, but afraid of the side effects of diet pills. Thus, I will have to take time to resolve it naturally.

Between running- around, and entertaining my family, it is rare that we have spare time for fun, like going to the beach, or watch TV for that matter. Moreover, we are not much of TV watchers because we don't subscribe to local tv satellite. There is an exception of American Idol, we followed it since the Chris Daugherty time. But now, without Simon, I am not sure if we will still be that faithful to tune in.

We are debating whether we would watch more TV if we had a subscription to localtv-satellite.com, since there will be so much more programs. We currently have the limited, basic cable just to get reception, and we can't afford the cable bill. We might be one of the few families that don't have cable, and have no idea what is on TV. We were looking around for a solution, and came close to ordering from www.localtv-satellite.com. We just need to finalize some details and make sure everyone in the family has no objections. You think?

Thanks for stopping by today.

  2. I love these views....if your anything like me diet pills are a no-no because I can't handle the jittery affects-BUT. I am trying to lose like 20 pds and we got these samples of I have to go look at the name but I have been taking one pill everyday. No jitters and I have more energy-and (not to sound gross) but it helps you go to the bathroom and I have trouble with that...so for the past 3 days I'm doing good. I am going to write a post shortly and will let you know what they are called-if your interested.

there's barely ever anything on tv...be have basic too...ur not missing out on much of anything:)

  3. We have Dish Network and more channels than we'll ever be able to watch. I think it's expensive (around $90 a month), but figure my husband deserves it. He watches a lot of CNN and loves the movies. I watch very little television--spend my time writing instead. Of course, when you live near Santa Cruz and can spend time watching the ocean, well...who needs TV? Good luck with your decision. I guess going cable is less expensive than going to the movies.

  5. Well, Guess I'll toss my hat in the ring on the whole TV issue. I grew up in a home where there was a TV in virtually every room. It was our normal until one evening my cousin was on a game show and my mom, sister & my self were watching her from different rooms. That seemed odd. Fast forward to today. I have not had broadcast TV in my home for almost 3 years. I only see the news when I visit my sister and mom. If I just really want to see a show I can catch it online. What I like most is that I control what comes in my eyegates and eargates. I say based on this post your life is rich with relationships and will only increase with out the background noise of TV.

  8. We have digital cable with internet and phone. We rarely watch tv and have it more for the internet connection. We got a really good deal on the package.

Beautiful shots of the ocean, if I lived there I would be outside as much as possible too.

  10. Love the Santa Cruz photos...it's been years since I've been there. As far as tv, you're not missing much! I have cable but there's a lot of garbage on there so I watch very few things. I'd rather spend my time cooking or doing creative things.

  16. @Jacqui DobensI am with you, the news is actually the best TV program. Sometimes they can really get you going. True stories are always wonderful.

  18. @SquirrelQueenYou got a good point, we don't go there unless we check the weather to make sure that it's very warm.

  19. @Inspired2cookI see, I know cable has a lot of aggressive shows. I too think I do away with half of them. I would like to see HGTV once in a while.

  20. @ruthiWe would love it if we can live outside, but that isn't possible. We would have to go inside sometimes. We thought the cable would be good for the kids, since there are so many shows.

  21. These photos are beautiful.

I would love to go to the beach sometime.

We have cable...I think we have too many channels that never get watched and wished I could just choose the ones we do watch. and be able to pay less.

  22. I love Santa Cruz and try to get down ( it's only 60 miles from me ) at least twice a year since I have a dear forensic nursing colleague there. There are some great restaurants. I have the ocean right here, though, less than three miles from me so I really don't need to travel to Santa Cruz for that.
