Mobility Aid for the Aging and Disabled

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.

As my mother's care-taker, I experienced some trying times. It has been increasingly difficult every day to go out with her. I not only have to keep an eye out for my three year old daughter, but I have to be physically able to help my disabled mother in and out of the car.

I was happy the day that we got her a wheelchair, but now what? I have the wheelchair and a three year old, not to mention the stroller at times too. It is a lot to handle at once, since this past year we have decreased the number of outings with mom when I am by myself. Many of the caregivers at the local library told me how they got help through NMEDA. This company is a non-profit trade association that is connected with the equipment dealers. They educate consumers in the purchase of their equipment as they do not sell the equipment themselves.

I would like to at least get in touch with the NMEDA Quality Assurance Program (QAP) dealers, since they are the only nationally recognized accreditation program for the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry. We all know how hard it is to find good customer service. It would be wonderful to deal with knowledgeable professionals with the interest of helping you. They have the basic principle of customer satisfaction. Furthermore their dealers must have a systematic and documented approach to quality.

When you are making such an important investment it is important to go with a company that is reputable and that knows what they are doing. While mom is not getting around well like before, it only gets worst with time, and I need to be ready for the day that the vehicle I will be driving would be the vehicle that is accessible to her wheelchair.
