This is my second post about page rank, and traffic. My first article was about Google Page Rank and what it means in simple terms. Wikipedia has a very good description on Page Rank if you are interested in the history of the word.
Having a blog is fun, but it isn't so much fun if you don’t get traffic to your site. Behind the scenes of owning a blog there are tremendous work. Not only posting articles on a regular basis is a necessity, but how to promote and understand the technicalities is another must. Driving traffic to your site is one of the most challenging tasks for a blogger.
I don’t sell a product on my blog, not yet. My blog is about sharing my knowledge and opinions with the world, so it is quite difficult in many ways to promote, because there are thousands of blogs out there with the same idea. I believe it is a little easier to promote your blog if you are selling a product. There are web directories such as Blog Catalog, BlogTopSite that would list your site FREE of charge with simple steps. Directories are important to your blog's success.
I have read many articles from pro bloggers, who are in the top 10,000 ranks, on how to tips to promote your blog on different blog directories. The list is long, and there are only a few important blog directories that are relative to your blog category. You will need to do some digging to find the relevant ones for yourself. I am still learning what works for my blog. If you have had a good experience or know of a quality directory please comment below. I would love to hear about your experiences. Thanks for reading my article.
